(Mercury 70789) Feb 1956
This release couples another of Carter's classic songs, Nobody's Love Is Like Mine, together with Big Tilda, one of Ralph's lesser known but superb banjo instrumentals.
The single was reviewed in 'Billboard' magazine 11th Feb 1956, with both sides scoring 73 points. With typical brevity, Nobody's Love Is Like Mine was described thus: "The brothers have an authentic country sound on this ditty. Disk is aided by bright string instrumentation." and Big Tilda as "A lively, sparkling country instrumental."[1]
Both side of the release can now be found on The Complete Mercury Recordings 2xCD set.
PS: There's a really good banjo tab for Big Tilda and both the breaks from Nobody's Love Is Like Mine in Gary Bates's (aka Stanleytone) page on the banjohangout.
