Other Clinch Mountain Boys' Discographies
This is nowhere near a definitive listing... I just wanted to start to list some of the other albums that may be of interest, and which were close to hand.
There is some overlap with the 'Collaborations' and 'Other CMB Appearances' section of the Main Ralph discography and as with the Main discography, I'll be adding hyperlinks to pages for individual albums as & when time permits.
For Curly Ray Cline and Ralph Stanley II see their separate discography sections.
Wherever possible I've taken information from my own collection, but have also filled in a few gaps from Charley Pennell's Bluegrass Discography. Thanks also to Todd Gracyk, Chris Wing, Steve Wisner.
If you think I should add anything, please get in touch via the Contact page...
This is still a work in progress so stay tuned!
Sammy Adkins:
This listing of Sammy Adkins releases may not be complete. Many have been are hard to find details about, and even harder to locate copies. Fortunately, you can now get copies of many of them on CD-R via Michelle Wright via facebook. If you know of any other releases, or can provide any missing details, please get in touch via the Contact page!
[3] and [4] are the same.
[4] reissued on CD or CD-R.
[8] features backing by Sammy Adkins and the Sandy Hook Mtn. Boys, who at that time consisted of Sammy, Renfro Profitt, Denver Jones and James Lowe.
[14] is a reissue/repackage of [2].
Don 'Chubby' Anthony:
(1) is a compilation with three tracks featuring Don Stover, Mitchell 'Bea' Lilly and Don 'Chubby' Anthony and one by Chubby Anthony and Don Stover. Later reissued on CD (Smithsonian Folkways CD-SF-40038) 1991.
(2) is a compilation which contains three tracks by Ken Clark with Don Anthony. The tracks are also included on (15).
(5) is a Japanese live LP featuring Chubby Anthony, not to be confused with the 'Live At Hillbilly Ranch' CD (Hay Holler HH-CD-1333) 1996 which features differnt material.
(9) got a lukewarm review in the Mar. 1978 edition of 'Bluegrass Unlimited' which described them as a "basically average band", but noted that Chubby Antohony "performs well for them here, helping to smooth out rough edges and providing considerable spark of his own."
(12) is a re-packaged reissue of (7)
(13) is a double album with four live tracks by Chubby Anthony and Big Timber.

NB: There are also two further LP's by a different unrelated Charlie Cline:- Country Dobro (Adelphi AD-2001) 1975; and More Dobro (Aldephi AD-2008) 1976.
Jack Cooke:
[1] the Arrow 78 was shown as by 'Estill Stewart 7 Flat Mountain Boys' (the '7' being a typo for '&'). It was reissued on 45 (Starday 45-307) 1957, just credited to 'The Flat Mountain Boys'. I Could Love You All The Time later appeared on 'Early Days Of Bluegrass Vol. 2' (Rounder 1014) 1975; and both sides were included in 'The Best Of King And Starday Bluegrass' 4xCD box set (Gusto/King KG-0952-4-2) 2004.
[2] reissued on 7" (King Bluegrass 730407) c1973.
[3] both sides can also be found on the Various Artists - 'Country Blue Grass Jamboree' 2xLP compilation (Mad-Bag Productions, Inc. MB-288-289) 1977.
The 'A' sides to [2] and [3] are also included as bonus tracks on [5].
[4] Ralph Rinzler arranged for Jack Cooke to play bass on the sessions for this album in Baltimore. In addition to playing bass, Jack apparently sang baritone on one cut Life Is Like A Mountain Railway.
[5] is a CD-R featuring James Alan Shelton, Jack Cooke, John Rigsby & Todd Meade.
NB: Jack Cooke also played on Bill Monroe's sessions between 1st Dec. 1958 and 25th Nov. 1959, appearing on Gotta Travel On, No One But My Darlin', Big Mon, Monroe's Hornpipe, When The Phone Rang, Tomorrow I'll Be Gone, Dark As The Night, Blue As The Day, Stoney Lonesome, Lonesome Wind Blues, Thinking About You and Come To Me. These have obviously had several releases on different singles/LPs, but the all can be found split between the Bear Family 'Bill Monroe - Bluegrass 1950-58' and 'Bill Monroe - Bluegrass 1950-58' box sets (Bear Family BCD-15423) 1989 and (Bear Family BCD-15-529) 1991.

[1] cassette release containing a tribute song Legendary Story about the Stanley Brothers. Danny's father, Elzie, an old-time fiddler plays on this release.
[2] cassette release, also with Danny's father, Elzie, on fiddle.
[7] looks like it took place around the same time as the Sammy Adkins' What A Day That Will Be session, as it includes the exact same personnel, but with different songs of course.
[9] features Don Rigsby, Elmer Burchett, CMB James Price, and Danny's son, Chris.
[10] is a short but sweet release with just six tracks and backing by members of the High Fidelity bluegrass group. On this, Corrina Rose Logston shines on fiddle.

Second draft... thanks to Todd Gracyk for the updates.
[2] also issued as (Eagle 131).
[3], [4], [8], [14] & [18] by The Woodettes include Melvin's wife Willia Woods and feature backing instrumentation by the Goins Brothers.
[17] This is a cassette release which contains the Bluegrass Blues / Hateful Thing (Jessup MB-147) 7" c1974 plus outtakes from that era. The liner notes to the single refer to an unissued album 'Bluegrass Blues' (MB-148).
[31] features Melvin Goins, Ernie Thacker and Don Rigsby.
NB: There's also 'The Goins Brothers - Most Requested Hymns' (Old Homestead OHS-70033) 1980 & 'He's The One' (Riverside R-84086-3) 1983, both of which don't feature Melvin or Ray. Instead they are by the "second edition" Goins' featuring Melvin & Ray's brothers: Conley Goins, Harold Goins & James Goins.

NB: I'm told that (1) and (2) feature Wayne Lewis. According to Neil Rosenberg / Charles K. Wolfe's "The Music Of Bill Monroe" (p.201), Wayne played in a band called The Kentuckians who recorded "an EP for the Jalyn label and an LP with Paul 'Moon' Mullins". It seems that (1) and (2) were later reissued by a band member as a CD-R EP, but I'm not sure whether the Rosenberg/Wolfe text refers to an earlier vinyl EP reissue.
[17] includes an unreleased Bill Monroe live Gospel album from the Cathedral Caverns near Huntsville Ala. 4th July 1982. (Needless to say all the Bill Monroe Bear Family box sets are 'must haves', but I've only listed this one as it includes this previously unreleased album.)
