The Stanley Brothers - The Stanley Brothers & The Clinch Mountain Boys 1949-52

This German compilation is similar to the later The Complete Columbia Stanley Brothers CD, with both containing all 22 tracks The Stanley Brothers recorded for Columbia, but with an additional alternate takes of The Fields Have Turned Brown and Little Glass Of Wine...

The alt take of The Fields Have Turned Brown has a different fiddle kick-off/intro, a slightly different mandolin break and different vocal phrasing on the first verse by Carter. Ralph's banjo is also less prominent in places.

The CD comes with a 20 page booklet by Gary B. Reid, and like the Columbia release, is sequenced in the order the tracks were recorded.
