Ralph II (and presumably the CMBs) played on Thursday (6 Jun) at the 'Christopher Run Bluegrass Festival' on Lake Anna, Mineral, Virginia.

The festival itself ran from 8-10 June and other acts included: Rhonda Vincent, Bluegrass Bros., Cherryholmes, Cedar Hill, Nothin' Fancy, Wheeling West Virginia High School Band, Mill Run, Lewis Family, James Reams & Barnstormers, Christopher Run Band, Mark Templeton, Dark Hollow, Carolina Road, Stevens Sisters, Driving Force, and the Grass Cats.

08 - 10 Jun 2006 - Hopedale, OH (20 years ago)

Ralph II was listed as appearing (at some point) at Mickey's Mountain, Hopedale, Ohio.

Other acts included: Almost Famous, Twin Hills, Wheeling Park, Buck & Boys, Hickory Project, Allegheny Drifters, 1946, Dean Osborne, Wildwood Valley Boys, Northwest Territory, Coleman Family, and Carroll County Grass.

The festival itself ran from 7-9 June and other acts included: Not Guilty, Wheeling Park Bluegrass, Lonesome Meadow, Goodtime Bluegrass, Tall Grass, Carroll County Grass, Rarely Herd, Muellers, Shephard Brothers, Possum Trot, BuckMcCumbers, 1946, and 3rd Generation.

Ralph was billed as appearing at 'Coney Grove Bluegrass festival & Craftman's Fair', 1 mile from Georgia Veteran's State Park and 8 miles from Cordele. Also on the bill were: Tut Taylor, former CMB Chubby Anthony, Lewis Family, and the Blue Ridge Gentlemen.

The Craftman's Fair consisted of about 200 artists exhibiting arts & crafts "in a spacious grove", with about 40 bands performing.

08 - 16 Jun 1974 - Bean Blossom, IN (52 years ago)

Ralph was billed as appearing at 'Bill Monroe's 8th Annual Bluegrass Festival' at the Brown County Jamboree Park in Bean Blossom, Indiana.

I'd guess Ralph's appearances were later in the week, as other gigs were advertised on the 7-9th. Other advertised acts at Bean Blossom included: Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, Jim & Jesse, James Monroe, Larry Sparks, Bluegrass Alliance, Reno - Harrell, Bill Clifton, Monroe Doctrine, McLain Famly, Bluegrass Blackjacks… and many others.

08 - 09 Jun 1974 - Little Hocking, OH (52 years ago)

Ralph was billed as appearing at the '3rd Annual Bluegrass Festival' at the Double R Ranch in Little Hocking, Ohio. The Festival ran from the 7-9 June, but as Ralph had another appearance on the 7 June, the CMB's presumably just played on the 8-9th.

Other acts advertised included: Monroe County Bluegrass Boys, Country Gentlemen, Goins Brothers, Chuck Atkins & the Bluegrass Statesmen, Raymond Fairchild, Jeff Blankenship & Rocky Mountain Boys, Jimmy Martin, Osborne Bros.

07 - 08 Jun 1975 - Little Hocking, OH (51 years ago)

Ralph was billed as appearing at the '4th Annual Bluegrass Festival' at Double R Ranch in Little Hocking, Ohio.

The festival itself ran from 6-8 June, but as Ralph had another booking on the 6th, the band presumably just played on the Saturday / Sunday (7-8 Jun). Other acts on the bill included: Jim & Jesse, Goins Bros., Butler Bros., Lewis Family, Jimmy Martin, Hocking Valley Boys, Frank Necessary, Eagle Mountain Boys, Mac Wiseman, Raymond Fairchild, McCumbers Brothers, Chuck Atkins, Osborne Bros., Lillimae & and the Dixie Gospel-aires.

Ralph was billed as appearing on Friday / Saturday (8-9 Jun) at the '6th Annual Festival Of Bluegrass', Masterson Station Park, Lexington, Kentucky. WLEX-TV (Channel 18) broadcast part of the show live on the Friday, including Ralph Stanley & the Country Gentlemen.

The festival itself ran from 8-10th June and other acts included: Seldom Scene, Country Gentlemen, JD Crowe, Buck Whhite, McLain Family, Boys From Indiana, Katie Laur Band, Stoney Creek, Hotmud Family, Reel World String Band, Muddy River, and more bands.

Ralph had as show at the Carolina Theatre, Greensboro, North Carolina. Tickets cost $24.50 - $26.50, plus a $2.50 Theatre resoration fee.

Ralph dedicated the show to Doc Watson who died a few days earlier (29 May). His music was played before the show.
