This CD was put together by Nathan Stanley and features an assortment of country/bluegrass guest vocalists, with some backing provided by CMB members.

Slightly different versions of 7 of the 12 'guest artist/song choices' had been previously released on the A Special Tribute To Living Legend, Dr. Ralph Stanley CD-R in 2012. i.e. Dad's Old Rocky Field - The Lewis Tradition; Master's Bouquet - Ricky Skaggs; Pretty Polly - Vince Gill & Rebecca Lynn Howard; Oh Death - Gene Watson; Katy Daly - Ralph Stanley II; A Robin Built A Nest On Daddy's Grave - Nathan Stanley; and I Think I'll Just Go Away - Jeff Bates. The extent to which they differ between the two releases is variable...

That leaves Marty Raybon and Sonya Isaacs - Constant Sorrow, Jeff & Sheri Easter - Going Up Home To Live In Green Pastures; Charlie McCoy - Little Maggie, Jimmy Fortune - A Room At The Top Of The Stairs, and Rhonda Vincent - The Darkest Hour.

As this CD got better distribution than the A Special Tribute To... it is much easier to find, but neither will appeal too much to Stanley purists, as much of it has overblown country type vocals that doesn't fit the 'Stanley' style too well, though there are the obvious exceptions like Ralph II's rendition of Katy Daly.

  • Junior Blankenship: lead guitar
  • Dewey Brown: fiddle
  • Jimmy Cameron: bass
  • Don Rigsby: mandolin
  • Ricky Skaggs: mandolin (*)
  • Ralph II Stanley: guitar
  • Mitchell VanDyke: banjo

NB: (*) on Masters Bouquet only.
