Please rate this album:

Nathan's 7th album, recorded at Maggard Sound, in Big Stone Gap, Va. is a highly polished modern sounding country gospel release...

Many of the tracks feature guest vocals including You Can't Make Old Friends which a couple of lines sung by Ralph Stanley. Ralph's voice sounds as if it's been tweaked a little (auto-tuned).

Five of other songs also have links to the Stanley's back catalogue: Baptism Of Jesse Taylor which Ralph recorded on his 1975 LP Let Me Rest On A Peaceful Mountain; Let Me In Your Heart by CMB Dewey Brown, which he recorded on his Hard Times For A Fiddler CD; (Going Up Home To Live In) Green Pastures which Ralph first recorded on his 1968 LP Over The Sunset Hill; Hand In Hand With Jesus which The Stanley Brothers recorded on Good Old Camp Meeting Songs; and Where Will You Go which Nathan recorded with Ralph Stanley on the 2008 Where Will You Go CD.

  • Nathan Stanley: lead vocal
  • Glen Harlow: drums, mandolin & harmonica
  • Ray Salyers: bass
  • Dewey Brown: fiddle
  • Jeff Branham: piano / keyboard
  • Mark Stephens: electric & acoustic guitars
  • Tony Dingus: steel guoitar / dobro

NB: Main personnel only shown above. Guest vocalists include: Vince Gill (9), Sonya Isaacs Yeary & Becky Isaacs Bowman (4), Jeff & Sherri Easter (3), Adam Crabb (11), Judy Marshall (2) & (6), T Graham Brown (3), Jeff Bates (6), Dr. Ralph Stanley (13). Additional backing vocals by Jennifer Wrinkle & Terry Thompson.
