This 3xCD compilation includes four tracks from the Stanley Brothers performance at the 1959 Newport Folk Festival. All have more recently been included on the Clinch Mountain Bluegrass CD. See that entry for further details.

Of the other material by Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Jim & Jesse, The Lilly Brothers, Don Stover, Hazel Dickens & Alice Gerrard and Hylo Brown (with Earl Scruggs), only the Bill Monroe set duplicates material found on the Various Artists - Bluegrass Breakdown CD.
