Curly Ray Cline Discography

Curly Ray Cline - It's Bread And Water For...

This listing doesn't (yet) include any of Curly Ray's pre-CMB work with The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers, Jimmy Martin, Rex & Eleanor Parker, Hobo Jack Adkins or the Davis Sisters.

In addition to the albums shown, Curly Ray (and Junior Blankenship) also appeared on John Wright's - Everything She Asks For cassette recorded in 1993. Curly also appeared on some of his son, Timmy Cline's releases including 'I Just Think I'll Stay Around' (River Track Studios RTS 1429) 1990.

Wherever possible I've taken information from my own collection, but have also filled in some of the gaps from Charley Pennell's Bluegrass Discography and John Wright's "Travelling The High Way Home" book.

Curly Ray's albums are somewhat of an acquired taste... The early ones tend to be more straight-forward concentrating on fiddle tunes, whereas the later ones feature more ad-hoc weirdness.

I'd love to see them reissued as a CD box set, complete with souvenir 'Key Chain'....

Ralph Stanley - "Curly's albums are in a class by themselves."

[13] apparently reissued on CD (Nashville Country NCPCD 101) 1994. Although the LP sleeve & labels list this as by Ralph Stanley & His Clinch Mountain Boys, it is really a Curly Ray album...
[14] shown as by Curly Ray, Charley and Timmy Cline.
