Featuring a choice selection of songs, the album successfully combines the rich legacy of the "Stanley" sound with Ralph II's own contemporary country-influences.

Ralph had a two night booking at the Shangri-La bar & restaurant, in Street, Maryland (9 miles North of Bel Air, MD). Tickets cost $2.

03 - 04 Oct 1970 - Onsted, MI (55 years ago)

The Republic newspaper in Columbus, Indiana had a small article mentioning that the "1st International Folk Bluegrass Festival" in Onsted, Michigan was in progress 3-4 Oct 1970 and acts included: Ralph Stanley, JD Crowe, Jimmy Martin, Tater Tate & Shenandoah Valley Cut-Ups, Mac Wiseman and others.

04 Oct 1974 - Angier, NC (51 years ago)

Ralph appeared on Friday (4 Oct) at the '2nd Annual North Carolina Blue Grass Festival' at Angier's Dixieland Campground Park, Angier, North Carolina. The band shared top billing at the festival with Earl Scruggs .

Other acts mentioned at the festival included: Lester Flatt, Conrad Hinson Family, Earl Scruggs, Rocky Run, Flatland Family Band, Green Grass Cloggers, Roby Huffman & Bluegrass Cut-Ups, Blue Grass Experience, Green Valley Ramblers, South Bound, Red White & Blue Grass, The Blue Grass Cats, Brothers In Bluegrass, L.W. The festival itself ran from the 3rd -5th Oct, and other acts included: Bill Monroe, James Monroe, Jim & Jesse, Reno-Harrell, Lewis Family, Mac Wiseman, Marshall Family, and others…

04 Oct 1979 - Austin City Limits (46 years ago)

KLRN TV recorded an episode of "Austin City Limits" featuring Ralph Stanley. Tickets for the filming were made available the day before. The show was 1 hour long with 30 mins devoted to Ralph and 30 to local act Uncle Walt's Band. Tracks by Ralph included: How Mountain Girls Can Love, Little Maggie, Clinch Mountain Backstep, Rocky Island, and Henry Brown.
