This 7" Gospel EP is a quite delightful, with some excellent material by Don Reno & Bill Harrell and Clyde Moody, plus two tracks by The Stanley Brothers.
Standin' In The Need Of Prayer had been in the Stanley's repertoire from their early days, with a live radio version also appearing on the Stanley Brothers On WCYB Bristol album. The version here first appeared on the (Wango 1783) 45.
The version of Amazing Grace is also a bit different, as it features Jack Cooke on lead, with George Shuffler and Ralph providing harmony. This first appeared on the John's Gospel Quartet LP. (Carter, who had laryngitis at the time, was limited to playing guitar on most of the Dec 1963 session.)
I estimated the release year for this EP as c1967, but Gary Reid has confirmed that it came out in 1970.
