(Wango EP-109) c1967
The third Wango 7" Gospel EP includes just one Stanley Brothers track, which had originally been issued on the John's Gospel Quartet LP.
I'll Fly Away/In The Sweet Bye & Bye is a short instrumental medley with Ralph and George Shuffler alternating banjo/guitar breaks.
The other cuts include a recitation by Ray Davis of Father's Table Grace with what sounds like Don Reno providing backing, plus another Don Reno/Bill Harrell track. Side two has a lengthy recitation of Orphan Joe by Ray Davis, which has different backing to the version on Plum Pitiful Vol. 1. (The EP version features church organ backing whereas the Plum Pitiful version is backed by Don Reno & Bill Harrell.) According to the liner notes to Plum Pitiful, the version with organ backing was recorded in 1965 and 'sold thousands of copies' around Baltimore.
Again, I'm guessing at the circa 1967 release date.
For detailed information on the Stanley Brothers songs/sessions check Gary B. Reid's The Music Of The Stanley Brothers book, pages 174-176, and 210.
