This CD-R came out Feb. 2017, and marks the debut release for Zach Wright, who was just 15 when it was recorded. Zach is an excellent banjo player who has the 'Stanley Style' down to a 'T', and as a bonus he's backed on this album by former CMB's Sammy Adkins, John Rigsby and Danny Lee Davis. Bass duties are provided Zach's 12 year old sister, a talented singer in her own right, who is showcased singing lead on Dolly Parton's Pain Of Loving You, Loving You Too Well and a credible powerful vocal on Little Maggie.

Former CMB lead vocalist Sammy Adkins also sings lead on White Dove. Zach has been playing with Sammy Adkins' Sandy Hook Mountain Boys since 2016 & says of his boss: "Sammy Adkins, aka Big Pawpaw, has always been one of my favorite lead singers. I started playing banjo for Sammy when I was 14, and over the past year he has taught me so much about the Stanley Brothers and their iconic music..."

The highlights of the album, however, for me are the instrumentals: Big Tilda, Daybreak In Dixie and Hard Times, which Zach executes perfectly, ably assisted by John Rigsby on fiddle and banjo.

Some of the tracks with Zach on lead vocal are less successful, but then he's at the age when the male vocal chords are stretching, and the occasional 'dubious' note is unavoidable.

Look out for both Zach and Savannah Wright - they're both got the potential to produce some stellar music in the future!

This CD-R can be picked up at Sammy Adkins' gigs, via Michelle Wright on facebook or by emailing ''.
