The Stanley Brothers - Little Birdie / Whiskey

This 7" features two songs from the Jan 1963 sessions for their 'fake live' Folk Concert LP.
Little Birdie, judging by the large number of live recordings, was a showpiece solo clawhammer song by Ralph, which the Stanley's had previously recorded for Rich-R-Tone (Rich-R-Tone RRT-1056), and which Ralph also would later re-record for the Japanese John Henry LP and A Man And His Music LP.
Whiskey, featuring a recitation by Carter was by contrast, only performed very rarely, with a version by Ralph later cropping up on the V/A - Berkshire Mountains Bluegrass Festival 2xLP.
Both sides of the single can be found on The King Years, 1961-1965 4xCD box set.
