The Stanley Brothers - Sing The Songs They Like Best

(King KLP-772) Nov 1961

The bulk of this album was recorded 15-16th Jan 1961, with two tracks taken from previous sessions. (She's More To Be Pitied from The Stanley Brothers And The Clinch Mountain Boys, and Mountain Dew from the Sing Everybody's Country Favorites sessions.)

Curiously, although recorded in January, the album wasn't released until November 1961, whereas the Old Time Camp Meeting gospel album was recorded later (February) but released earlier (May)...

Prior to the album's release two singles were issued from the sessions: The Window Up Above / The Wild Side Of Life (King 5460) later in Jan 1961; and I'd Worship You / I'll Take The Blame (King 5518) in Jun 1961.

The album was also issued in Japan (King 5065) 19?? and reissued (Gusto SK 772) 1975. Nowadays it is probably best found as part of The Early Starday/King Years, 1958-1961 4xCD box set.
