This LP was mainly recorded on 14 Aug and 17 Sep 1963 in sessions that also produced the instrumental America's Finest Five-String Banjo Hootenanny album.

Most of the material is again songs brought to the band, but nevertheless this is still a strong album, with Stone Walls And Steel Bars, Don't Step Over An Old Love, Don't Cheat In Our Home Town, and Standing Room Only becoming favourite Stanley-style numbers.

The album also features one of Carter's compositions - Lonesome Night which had previously been recorded for Mercury, but hadn't been issued at the time.

Three of the tracks (I Just Came From Your Wedding, Drunkard's Dream and (Dear Girl) Can You Forgive) had been recorded at the May 1962 sessions that produced Good Old Camp Meeting Songs. Drunkard's Dream had previously been released on a single with My Deceitful Heart (King 5674) Jul 1962; and I Just Came From Your Wedding similarly had been issued on a single with Mama Don't Allow (King 5688) Aug 1962.

From the Aug/Sept 1963 sessions, one single was released prior to the album: Stone Walls And Steel Bars / Lonesome Night (King 5809) Sep 1963. Later, Don't Cheat In Our Home Town was issued with I Can See Through You (King 5869) Mar 1964; I Just Stood There with Train 45 (King 5916) Jul 1964; Don't Step Over An Old Love with I'm Bound To Ride Sep 1964; and Never Again with Prayer Of A Truck Driver's Son (King 6046) 1966.

The album was reissued (Gusto SK-964) 1986. Nowadays the material is probably best found on The King Years, 1961-1965 4xCD box set.
