As with the earlier Japanese Stanley Brothers Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 compilations, this and the Rounder Vol. 2 LP contain all the material cut by The Stanley Brothers for Columbia.
Vol. 1 contains the first eleven tracks and is sequenced in the order they were recorded. The album comes with detailed liner notes by Douglas B. Green.
More recently all the Columbia material can be found on The Complete Columbia Stanley Brothers CD.
